The 2000 Aurora set was released in March, 2000 as a 150-card set. Each pack contained six cards and carried a suggested retail price of 2.99. Two versions of card number 133 were created to showcase Ken Griffey Jr. on the Mariners and his new team, the Reds. It's worth noting that this was the first MLB licensed card to feature Griffey as a Red and for a short while it traded in the $15-30 range. A promotional sample card featuring Tony Gwynn was distributed to dealers and hobby media several weeks before the product went live.
